What is the policy on attendance?

Attendance at each seminar is expected, and unexcused absenses will directly affect your grade for participation. You must notify the instructor before the morning of class in order to be excused.

What is the rubric for the attendance and participation grade?

Each week’s grade is calculated on a basis of 10 points. Credit is assigned as follows:

• 4 points for an on-time, on-topic, well-written response.
• 1 point each day for attending
• 2 points each day for participation. At a minimum, attending to others; for full credit, active participation in class discussion and small group exercises.
